Not new news, but since this is where I learned about Matrix and I still have the Code-8 in play in an Adams 5050 that I got from this site 10 years ago, I thought I would post this for those that did not know. Despite the Matrix president's comments below, things don't look good for them.

Time to buy some backup shafts on ebay...

Official response from Chris Elson.

"To clarify the post written earlier today, Matrix is not closing. Certainly these past several years have been challenging for most of us in the golf industry and we are no different. We do find ourselves in a position where we must work with our bank to ensure that their future needs are met as well as ours. In this, the aforementioned order pertains only to our doors being closed today and possibly Monday as we work with our bank on a mandated comprehensive inventory count and work together to facilitate a collaborative strategy to meet our mutual needs moving forward. That being said, we are bullish about our new MARU and Altus Tour line of products and look forward to continuing to provide great product to all of our customers for many years to come."

Sincerely,

Chris Elson
President

This is terrible news. I have always loved the Matrix line of shafts.

Maybe they can be acquired by True Temper or Mitsubishi.  Let hope they don't stop producing their great shafts.

I picked up a bunch of uncut shafts on ebay as backups for between $15-30 each.

Matrix is being controlled by the bank.  They are done after the bank squeezes every last cent out of it.  Also heard bids are starting to go around.

Have no proof of this and haven’t heard anything but maybe TGR is buying Matrix. When TGR was announced there was talk they could get into the equipment business. Rumors about Matrix being bought have popped up last few weeks, Tiger switching to Matrix shafts in driver and 3 wood....

Now THAT would be interesting to say the least....probably not much of a chance in that happening, but it would be interesting to see how that would work out.
