What are some more of the high-end non-OEM stuff? I know of Nakashima, Miura, Honma, KZG, Alpha, Vega, Scratch. Any others? More wood-makers other than Alpha? Thanks, broskis.

Geek for sure on Woods.

We interviewed Steve Almo, their CEO a while back, great guy.

Here's the link to the interview.

I would add Swing Science. Some of the best hybrids and fairway woods out there.

Why is Scratch a non-Original Equipment Manufacturer?

Usually the OEM label is reserved for the major golf companies that possess larger distribution channels and are available at most golf retailers.

Bang - winner of 6 long drive contests with the Bang-O-Matic and Mellow Yellow.
Also,
Acer is starting to make a name for itself after recent reviews by Golf Digest 'top ten' drivers

Bang is really on it's way down as far as the new designs and quality is concerned. You read a lot of more or less average reviews on the net with quite a few comments about quality issues and not really great performance. The designer of the Bang-o-Matic (Steve Almo) left the company a couple of years ago to "honk his own horn". His new company is Geek Golf and the designs DCT and Fail Safe3 get a lot of hype as do his DCT fairway woods.

And Acer - well - I wouldn't consider the Hireko brand to be a high end component brand. They do a couple of decent designs that perform well, but for me, Acer is not comparable to Wishon, KZG, Miura or Epon.

Best regards,
Michael
