Just checking to see if anyone has compared the Superfast TP heads vs the Superfast Proto heads with the + on the hosel? I am loving my Superfast TP with DI 6 X but just picked up a Superfast Proto with the + on the hosel with a Whiteboard 63 X and was wondering if there is any difference in the 2 heads?

thanks!

To my knowledge the + on the hosel only means that the club was COR tested by TaylorMAde.
is there something else to designate that this club is a prototype?
does it have a Txxxxx serial number designating it as a Tour head or is it simply a retial head that has been COR tested?
Ihave hit one with a whiteboard and I would have to say that it was amazing,
I'm currently looking for a whiteboard pull to put into my SFTP....

Actually they have a tour only Superfast non TP head, the difference is it is .335 tip compared to retail being .350 and has a more compact look to the head, it is a SF in retail graphics but a .335 tip tour only head, BSG has some here for preorder, Rose, Day, etc are still playing this head and have not switched to the TP version, so I was wondering why and maybe someone had hit both already, I'm headed to chase the mailman so I can do a review over the weekend and I will take pics of the differences..... I have not seen any with a TXXX and + unless they were the TP version, these heads all have no serials and only a + on the hosel to my knowledge, maybe Hoss can chime in, he posted pics of one not long ago....

edit..... found pics

I am told its a 9.5 bent open, Ill post comparison pics with my TP tomorrow hopefully!

edit....mailman just rang the doorbell, which is a good thing since I have a 2pm teetime today so I will get to hit and compare both. The 9.5 with the + on the hosel def has had some heat applied to bend it open for sure, but my first impressions are the SF has a larger face and hitting area than the TP head, but at address the SF seems more compact, shorter from front to back, and an overall smaller looking head than the TP, maybe it is the all black finish vs the retail graphics playing tricks on me, but we will have a shootout this afternoon, TP has a DI 6 X and the Proto has a Whiteboard 63 X, I am mainly concerned in feel and hotness of the face!!! :smilie_tm:

yes and when BSG gets these heads in I am sure they will sell out in a day or less, no comparison, the 10.5 TP with DI 6 X is a goner, I am done driver shopping for awhile!!! :smilie_tm: I picked up a good 10 if not more......

Okay hope this is the right thread to post this question.

So are these guys playing the regular superfast or the TP? Sounds like the regular superfast.

TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Arjun Atwal earned a landmark victory at the Wyndham Championship, becoming the first Indian-born player to win on the PGA Tour and the first Monday qualifier to win in 24 years. Atwal, 37, played a Burner SuperFast driver and ranked T3 in driving accuracy (80.3%) and 14th in driving distance (300.4). The win certifies that Atwal will secure his PGA Tour card for 2011.

Across the Atlantic, TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staffer Peter Hanson bolstered his chances of earning a spot on the European Ryder Cup team by winning the Czech Open in a three-way playoff. Hanson, who played the Burner SuperFast and Penta TP, moved up to eighth place in the Ryder Cup rankings with just one event remaining before qualifiers are finalized. The Swede's victory was fueled by remarkably consistent driving, as he finished second in driving accuracy (76.8%) and 16th in driving distance (306.5).

Atwal's driver was the silver proto and there are still a few guys playing the original proto heads from when they first were released on tour, but they are all going with the black TP Tour heads at this point.

longer and thinner hosel for more adjustability, I am on the road, will get specs and measurements when I get home, hosel is definately longer and thinner than normal TXXX + stamped TP tour issue heads, haven't been out that long, but my guy calls it the SF 282...I'll get more info!
