@  J13 : (14 April 2015 - 10:49 AM) Speith is a stud and seems like an overall great ambassador for the game. I'm a fan
@  HossOnMoss : (13 April 2015 - 09:26 AM) It was a great week to watch. Speith was as impressive as ever and it was in my opinion equally impressive to see how much Tiger was able to turn his game around in time for Augusta. Pretty remarkable feats by both players. Should be a great summer of golf ahead of us!
@  BingHogan : (12 April 2015 - 10:10 PM) Yes, a great display of GOLF today! I'm not sure, but the Golf Channels Aaron Oberhosler was a bit irritated. Just my take...
@  HossOnMoss : (12 April 2015 - 08:53 PM) That was an awesome display of golf this week by Speith. I don't know how anyone could not like watching that guy play golf.
@  BingHogan : (11 April 2015 - 11:34 PM) I think he'll continue to mow em' down at Augusta. Seems like his destiny. Anyone who goes to a Jesuit High School is OK in my book!
@  TheMechanic : (11 April 2015 - 12:19 PM) who's gonna make a move today @ Augusta
@  BingHogan : (11 April 2015 - 08:08 AM) Tiger WHO!?

@  J13 : (01 April 2015 - 01:20 PM) Well he was spotted there yesterday so I have to think that was a round to see if the game is ready. Hope he played well.
@  TWshoot67 : (01 April 2015 - 10:26 AM) I agree I can't see him missing the Masters.....
@  HossOnMoss : (01 April 2015 - 10:26 AM) I'll be absolutely shocked if he doesn't play the Masters. I never had a doubt that he would return for Augusta. So, I'll be REALLY surprised if he doesn't play.
@  BingHogan : (01 April 2015 - 08:08 AM) He's gotta play next week. Can't believe he would pass on Augusta...
@  J13 : (31 March 2015 - 07:58 AM) Rumor has it Tiger is making a big announcement in the next 24 hours

@  HossOnMoss : (18 February 2015 - 11:08 PM) Just curious.....but does ANYONE ever read an item description on ebay before asking a question that is clearly answered by doing so? I love helping customers and working with them, but there really is a such thing as a stupid question. Phew...just had to get that off my chest. Rant over. :D
@  gtjr1975 : (18 February 2015 - 03:56 PM) Hey anyone know what shaft has a creme and gray color weave at tip I have pics posted in forums.
@  Shambles : (17 February 2015 - 05:47 PM) I have a set shafted to those 200's. Way soft and kind of fun.
@  BingHogan : (15 February 2015 - 07:01 PM) Thanks Hoss! I put them away until I got a little older... Probably waited too long!
@  HossOnMoss : (15 February 2015 - 05:10 PM) Bing, those are Dynamic Gold S200 .355 taper iron shafts.
@  BingHogan : (15 February 2015 - 04:07 PM) Anyone have an idea what shafts these are: DGISL200? Just found these in the garage and remember buying them about 10+ years ago. Thanks!
@  Laars : (04 February 2015 - 10:09 AM) Carroll was tricked into doing what he did. Pats don't call a time out, putting it all on Hawks either scoring or losing. Now you have no time, only 30 seconds. If Carroll does a running play first, and doesn't get in, he then MUST throw twice in order to win because he has no time left. Giving the advantage to NE. Go with the pass play first, then run twice. He picked the smarter plays, but in reality, he should give Lynch a shot, and if he doesn't get in, you lose. He looked at having 3 chances better then one. Belichick counted on Carroll doing that, going with 3 chances instead of one chance with Lynch, which on paper, 3 chances looks like the smart play. Carroll got out coached.
@  TWshoot67 : (03 February 2015 - 05:55 PM) J13 I feel pretty much the same. even two days later and I can't figure out why passing even entered anyones mind after the result of the previous play running the ball???????? :spank: :WTF: :nono:
@  J13 : (02 February 2015 - 07:57 PM) Carrolls call at the end makes me want to stick a nail gun against my temple and unload a clip. What a moron
@  Qwagmire : (02 February 2015 - 04:01 PM) Pats-Hawks, Texas-USC, more NCAA violations than any coach in history? Carroll has reaped what he sowed
@  HossOnMoss : (02 February 2015 - 09:51 AM) That was pretty hard to watch. Not a fan for either team, but it's painful to think that Carroll will be living with that choice for the rest of his life.
@  TWshoot67 : (01 February 2015 - 09:44 PM) now the biggest cheating nfl coach will go down in history as the best post seaon coach ever,,, blahh
@  TWshoot67 : (01 February 2015 - 09:42 PM) 2nd and goal from 1 and pass the ball w/ 30 seconds left??????

@  BingHogan : (21 January 2015 - 06:35 PM) Thanks Hoss! Sounds like they made the irons to my exact specs and added the Hogan name. Good things happen to those who wait!
@  rfdegen : (21 January 2015 - 02:02 PM) 6 days of scuba diving St. Thomas coming up next week! No golf this time. That happens in mid-February.

@  petter7 : (14 January 2015 - 01:40 AM) This one feels better than my freshman year when the Buckeyes slaughtered Michigan and then kicked OJ's butt in the Rose Bowl…and I was at both those games.
@  HossOnMoss : (13 January 2015 - 11:12 AM) @pingbear: I am not 100% sure on this so don't hold me to it, but I believe that they are made by Aldila. I could very well be wrong, but that's what I have been told.
@  HossOnMoss : (13 January 2015 - 11:10 AM) @petter7: Hard to imagine that Ohio State didn't even belong in the playoffs according to many, huh? Nothing against any other teams since I had not dog in this fight, but I wasn't disappointed to see OSU win it.

@  biu997 : (24 November 2014 - 10:25 PM) nippon modus
@  HossOnMoss : (24 November 2014 - 01:37 PM) @TWshoot67: Hard to say what the outcome and results will be, but hiring Como is a good move. He is one of these guys that is really on the cutting edge of the science of the golf swing which will blend well with what Tiger was doing under Foley. Como without a doubt though will have to make some changes, but at least it's not a total "start over" process and he knows what he's doing. Looks like Tiger is going to take more control over what he does with his game rather than following a teacher's instruction to the letter.
@  HossOnMoss : (24 November 2014 - 01:35 PM) @BingHogan: That would be a good test. Without a real formal apples to apples test, my impressions are that KBS Tour V actually shares a mix of characteristics from Modus 120 and 130.
@  TWshoot67 : (23 November 2014 - 01:11 PM) So what's everyones take on Tiger's new swing coach, Chris Como. Thoughts?
@  BingHogan : (21 November 2014 - 01:47 PM) Hey Hoss, any thoughts on doing a comparison of the Nippon 120's vs the KBS Tour V Tour?
@  HossOnMoss : (20 November 2014 - 10:48 AM) What do you guys think about Golf Digest's / Dan Jenkins' recent "interview" with Tiger? http://bombsquadgolf...iew-with-tiger/
@  ROBOPTI : (14 November 2014 - 10:14 AM) Bing - Birds of a feather - Those are the same 2 I am beating on lately (BC+ / 30)
@  ROBOPTI : (14 November 2014 - 09:02 AM) Posted Image
@  HossOnMoss : (12 November 2014 - 08:47 PM) Check out these Taylormade tour issue TP wedges and UDI's including the rare 47° PW and 23° #4 UDI. http://bombsquadgolf...-utility-irons/
@  HossOnMoss : (11 November 2014 - 07:43 PM) And by the way guys, the new Big Bertha Alpha 815 and DBD heads exceeded my expectations today in my initial testing. Really good stuff from Rutherford Road in these new heads! :smilie_cally:

I currently game a Sonartec 13 degree with an X Flex Vista Pro 90. It has been a great club, but I was wondering what everyone else is gaming, particularly a 3 wood to primarily hit off of the tee?

Adams 5050 or Taylormade R7 Ti Tour. If pure distance is what you want, 13 degree in either will give it to you. No other two 3 woods have as high a pure ball speed.

Adams 5050 13* with Altus.

I'd agree on the Adams 5050 13* and whatever shaft fits your swing... although Altus seems to be a good all around choice.

I would add that a 13* metal wood should be considered a 2 wood, especially given many of us are now playing 10* drivers or higher.
That said, pure tee club distance for me no question the new Tour Edge CB3tour 15*-3 wood.

If you wanted something with a no left bias that was easier to hit off the deck but slightly shorter in tee distance I would add the new Ping I15 14*...shallower face, slight fade bias making it nearly impossibe to smother hook.
Good luck

The longest 3 wood I ever hit was my 15* 970 series Titleist with a Graffaloy prolite. I had many 280-300 yard drives when hit on the screws ( well not that many ...but you know). Problem was it wasn't the most forgiving but it was LONG! So unless you got a super grooved swing I'll stick with my TM HFS 15* with my Fuji 771 TA. I would like to try that TM ti since it's a nice looking head very similar to my HFS in my opinion as far as shape. I'm sure Todd would know which head is deeper face but they look close from pics I've seen posted here.

Both good clubs, but nothing touches the 970 or TEE CB series IMHO.

Another vote for the 5050. Mine is a 13* bent 1* so plays somewhere near 12*.
My swing suits the code series so matched with a code 8 this makes one long 3 wood!
Saying that, probably more of a fairway driver!!

I have a special ERC 3+ wood 12.5deg with a Graf Blue. This club is a monster 'stinger' club but I only use it when I play links golf as it's too long for my home course.

Here's another vote for the Adams 5050 3 wood. My old TM V-Steel 13* 3 wood (tour issue) is not far behind.

OldEagleman

That was gonna be my two votes as well. Neither are the most forgiving but they make "ball go far".

I hit a TourIssue Adams BTY 12.5* that was a few degrees open, effective loft was probably around 10*, and that thing was just a rocket launcher.

Adams 5050, I almost hit it too far sometimes. I got it for 240ish yd drives on tight par 4's, but I can hit it that far off the fairway.

I've played most of the TM 3 woods extensively and have found R9 13* to be the deepest of them all.Posted Image

POPULAR

My current Cally X-Hot 13* 3-wood is the longest I've ever hit and will only leave when they can pry it from my cold dead hands. Nuff said.

The X Hot 3-wood is an extension of Callaway Golf’s X Fairway Woods line, with a larger head volume (202 cc’s) and shallow face for increased forgiveness and confidence. Big enough to double as a driving club, its low leading edge means it’s effective from tight lies or the rough.

455 Carpenter Steel Face
The lighter, stronger steel face provides increased ball speed off the clubface resulting in unmatched distance from a Callaway Golf 3-wood. The steel face also enables our engineers to increase the clubhead volume for a higher Moment of Inertia (MOI), greater forgiveness and stability, and more confidence at address.

Long Fujikura Banzai Shaft
The Fujikura Banzai shaft provides great feel and exceptional control to complement the X Hot clubhead features. At 44 inches, it offers increased clubhead speed for increased distance.

I'm playing and don't plan to replace for sometime a tour issued burner 3 wood with a matrix code 8 shaft. I assume it is the HFS head 2007 model.

I bought from a guy on the BSG sell/trade.

The club is absolutely hot and feels like butter! It sets up really nice to ball and is easy to work high, low, left, or right.

For me it's been the 5050 or the Burner TP '07. Both are almost as long as many drivers.
